What do you all recommend for a MIDI controller for my Wombtone? I'm a MIDI virgin, but I also have 2 line 6 M5's that I can hook up. Any suggestions are helpful since I literally know nothing.

I'm a bit of a MIDI noob as well.. looking for someone with familiarity with MIDI and a Chase Bliss pedal for guidance.
Which disaster area controller would work best with the Wombtone? Can I store more than the two presets the pedal instrinsically offers if I use a MIDI controller? Do I need something like Empress's MIDIBOX to use a disaster area design? Ideally, I'd like to control the tap tempo (a global tap tempo I could also use to sync to other MIDI or 1/4"- controlled tap-tempo pedals), and store and recall presets. I imagine that it would be best to use an expression pedal hooked up to the wombtone itself to control the parameters rather than use an exp pedal hooked up to the MIDI device.. right?
Thanks for taking the time.. I had a little trouble finding useful, in-depth information after googling how to MIDI-control the wombtone.

Yes to the storing more than 2 presets.
Yes to the Empress's box.
Yes to the exp pedal -> wombtone instead of MIDI.
I would ask to Disaster Area if what you want to achieve with your Wombtone is doable with any of their firmware versions. In general, DMC's controllers are not good with anything that is not Strymon, but they could probably make a custom firmware for you.
If you are thinking in adding more MIDI-capable pedals to your chain in the future, look at stuff like Peak, Voodo Labs, Musicomlab.

Hello Jack,
Thanks for your email.
All you will need is a reverse polarity cable to connect from the expression jack of our DMC-3XL Gen2 to your Wombtone.
As long as the Wombtone is set to the "C" channel on the DMC-3XL everything should work fine.
We can make the reverse polarity cable for you here for an additional $15.
Here's a link to our DMC-3XL Gen2 with more information:

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,

Necro bumping this one.
Joel or anyone with knowledge, is the Wombtone MK1.1 MIDI spec the same as for the original, as the MKII, or somewhere between?

they're close. Wombtone Mk1's are set to MIDI channel 6 and can't be changed unless Joel changes the code for you.
