Problem: I have a new(ish) NYC Muff that I took apart to do some mods on and then got ADD halfway through.
I was thinking it might serve as good fodder for an Amp on Fire, BUT, I dunno if its worth shipping stateside from Auslandia and back again.
Does Alan at Mountainking even do this mod anymore? Is it expensive? Does it only apply to older Muffs, not the current revision?
I'd do the mod myself if I knew what the changes were, but I can't find nuthin online.

Anyone know the score here?
Dudes with these Muffs, feel free to talk me into it and post clips.

Apparently he does NOT do the mod anymore. Fwiw I've seen a Black Russian and NYC RI Amp on Fire.

It would be neat if someone who had one (UG I LOOKIN AT CHYOO) who could post photos of it for DIY dissection because I would love to do this.

Seeing as the thing is in bits anyway, I'm not too bothered if I fuck it up.
Gotta do something with it, may as well go for broke.

My guess is there a shit load of changes that take it beyond a somple mod and into "near complete reconstruction of the circuit".
Anyone got one that knows their way around a Muff?

I asked Alan about it a few years back and he said something to the effect of "It's too much of a pain in the ass to make it affordable".

Sonny and MLC both have one. I assume Sonny may know a little about the Muff circuit.

I have the changes written down/pictures of guts somewhere. MLC let me borrow his a while back when I was doing some repairs to a LAL 88.

Why don't you just ask him?

I figured I wouldn't bother Alan at Mountainking in the off chance he wasn't prepared to share mods he used to charge for with some rando off the internet.
I mean, I'll never be a pedal builder and I wouldn't leak the communication, but I can see why he'd be reluctant to do so.

Although, I suppose if we are positing that we can reverse engineer this thing based on units dudes here have bought, then the decent thing to do would be drop him a courtesy call.

It'd have to be on a bit of an honor system, but since we don't abide many nefarious folks I don't think that's a huge problem?
