walrus deep six

hi there,

anyone using the deep six around here? i just wonder if mine is different... or special... :?:

it seems like the drill hole for the 9V inlet is shifted to the left side (or the jack is shifted to the right side...). there is some space between the jack and the enclosure. you can even look inside. if i plug in the cable there is quite some tension on the plug/jack/pcb.

maybe i'm dumb and i don't get this organic boutique pcb cooling system?

Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me! Have you contacted them directly?

Alas, I do not. There's a shop near me that used to carry Walrus Audio - I'm not sure if they still do or not. The manager is a friend of mine, though - I can ping him and see if he has any insight. He's a gearhead and pedal-lover too, so he definitely pays attention to those sorts of details.

I had the same "issue" with mine. Just open it and push the circuitboard in place. It's tight in there, but possible.

Good luck. I've sent out the question to some other gearhead friends, and they've confirmed that it seems to be a common thing with Walrus.

I knew it! But I have to insist on a proper instruction in the manual.

hm. i opened the box and loosend all the screws. but i don't see any way to move the pcb. the jack is mounted not perfectly parallel to the pcb edges. and there are some resistors mounted next to the jack. i think this is a failure in design. i actually can't believe that walrus makes such solid pedals (and prices...) and just fails with something that simple.
