Volume Pedal?

I want a volume pedal to use with keyboards.
Actually, I want 2.
I don't need it to do anything else.
There are a lot of volume pedals out there.
Why would I want to choose one over another?
I don't want to spend a whole lot of bread.

Any suggestions, comments, pointers?….

I don't own any volume pedals. I've tried Ernie Ball Volume Jr. It was okay. If I were to buy a volume pedal today, it'd be the Visual sound because of the display. You can see how far along the sweep you are. Which I think is hella smart.

Ernie ball: Affordable, perfect size, feel, weight and sweep...But otherwhise the whole thing is just one big design fail. The little string will break on you for no apparent reason, and it's a pita to replace.

One of these days I'm replacing mine with one of the Dunlops, or a Mission VM-1.

Visual Sound: I personally need indication leds on a volume pedal as much as I need an asshole on my elbow. Not only does it take up another inch or so of precious pedal board space, it's also yet another thing that needs 9 Volts, though it's still a passive volume pedal...No thanks :idk:

Behringer FCV100 are SO cheap and work just fine. One stereo or two mono instruments, heavy enough to stay in place and you can adjust the minimum volume which is very cool.

Take the big ugly decal off the thing and you'll be happy I promise. I have one. Here is a page with the many available on ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=be ... +&_sacat=0.

:wha?:
Wah pedals are awesome dude. You just have to know how to use one properly. You can do so much more than the theme from Shaft and 70s porn soundtracks. It is my favourite effect after the FUZZ!
But you are right about volume pedals being underrated.
I say for a volume pedal, then go for a Dunlop.

Pick up an old Boss FV300L on ebay (often for very cheap), or grab a Boss FV500L. Both are excellent, but I prefer the former. You want the low impedance version (as opposed to the FV300/500H) since you're using it with a keyboard signal, high impedance is only really designed for passive guitar output.

This good to know, thanks!

Thoughts on the BOSS FV200?

I currently use a Dunlop DVP1 as a volume pedal and a Boss FV500L as an expression.
Both have a very good feeling, smooth and long sweep and built like tanks.
I like Boss's tightness more, so I decided to use it as an expression pedal because I'm a tremolo freak, plus, it already has the expression output, so no need to buy a 2 TRS adapter.

I always liked the boss ones too. I think they look nice and are built well.
