Dudes! Alter Ego V2 or T2??

My birthday is coming up and my rad girlfriend said she would buy me a pedal. I want to take advantage of the sale over at musiciansfriend but i'm torn on which one of these to get.

I'm pretty hesitant about the T2 as the videos i've heard aren't the best sounding and the modulation is was over the top but you never know until you try, right? Another hesitation for the T2 is that it would be my 4th reverb. I'm sure a lot of you will go with the "can't have enough" line but I currently have 3 on my board (rv-7, digiverb, supermoon). I think the T2 will just be redundant at this point. Ideas?

The demos for the alter ego sound pretty rad but it kind of bothers me that you can't use the different modes on the space echo preset. Right now I have a memory boy and a dd-7 on my board and I love both of them but I feel like i'm lacking something. Is the alter ego the answer? What do you guys think?

i haven't tried the alter ego, but i tried a T2 and it was everything you said - over the top modulation with little control, really synthetic and cheesy sounding, did not like it at all, you could probably get similarly spaced out sounds from the supermoon so i would be really hesitant to recommend it, definitely not as nice as the ones you have already, at least to my ears.

Guyzzz, the whole point is you can make your own presets with the editor right??? You can tweak the presets and go from there or you can start blank... There are tons of soundzzz in there if you aren't afraid of a computer and a usb cable... :idk:

I ain't afraid of no USB cable! However, I've slept on it and I think I'm going to go with the alter ego. If the t2 had reverse I might be tempted but I think I'm ready to try a new delay. I think I will be able to get some super dark ambient washy shizzz going on with the tone print on the alter ego and watching some more demos it sounds pretty good.

I just got my second alter ego yesterday and I love it. It is very clean...maybe too clean? And there is no mod control, but the presets all sound fantastic.

I love reverb but didn't have my T2 for more than a few weeks. It takes fuzz well, but that's about it. Felt a little limiting despite all the presets and toneprint. It's very soupy.

So I pulled the trigger on the alter ego. I also got a korg pitchblack poly for $35.
