on another forum I'm on we have a member gallery, granted most of my pics are pedals and I get very little comments on em lol
now this gentleman has got some really really nice gear
paul studio
paul standard
paul BFG
dime from hell
a V
a KH2
VHT pitbull head into vintage marshall with celestion 75s
so you know this guys got his stuff down and all that
but then he posted his pedals....I'm expecting this NewarkWilder (I cant think of anyone else with a ridiculous pedal board at the moment) style beast
....
and this is what I see

I instantly lost respect for the man...
thanks guys, thanks

The thing I

'd at the most was the guitar strap. Those crime scene straps can't die a horrible death fast enough.

Yeah! Fuck that guy!
I dig that Les Paul, though.

Maybe his strap is actually referring to his pedalboard...

I've heard some people say that pedals are just a way for guitarists with poor technique and skills to cover up their inadequacies. In my case, that's true.

Like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Billy Corgan.....all those PEDALS...What a bunch of SLOUCHES!

I hate it when people say that kind of thing. I've been playing for 14 years and teaching for 7. I can get the fingers a'flyin' pretty good and I have (and use) a bunch of pedals.
Maybe the dude who posted the pic didn't have all his junk hooked up when he took the photo? I guess if you're gonna post something like that, you want it to have as much impact as it can though. Prolly talking out of his ass.

Judging from the gear (a dean, a V, active pups etc.) it would seem he's a metal dude, they usually aren't too big on effects.
He could use some sorta boost/overdrive though.

Heresy for amp guys. Boost and distort with the amp channels only.

most metal guys will use something as a solo boost, be it a ds-1, tubescreamer, a satchurator or a metal muff
Though maybe he only plays jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga JAH JAH
Boosts are more for meedley meedley meedley meedley riffs.

NO say it ain't so.
Cranked Tubes, and more Tubes, and even more Tubes and then hit the front end as hard as you can.

I can use tapping so fast on my scalloped neck, there is no need for delay...only slight echo to boost my solos...

Active pickups?
I guess they have their place, but they just make me want to vomit.

well he's got the right delay pedal, and I'm sure he gets kickass distortion from his amp, but...I can't imagine not having more than one or two dirt sounds to choose from. Dude must play some boring music.

Yeah before I could lose respect for him based on his pedals, I lost it all on his strap.
