This site says it's trashy but is it trashy in a really cool way?
I'd like to use it as a studio effect. Anyone ever use it?

I've never tried the Arion, but, in general, I like cheap pedals from the '80s.
They certainly aren't going for much. So, I'd say, go for it.

Yeah, I do too. His reviews are usually pretty spot on.
In Bongo we trust.

Will do, just BIN'd one.

My first test with it will be to run drums through it while tweaking knobs.

i hestitated replying at first cuz i didn't wanna rain on your parade but i remember it just sounded like ass, and not in a super cool way. totally kills the low end, and makes kick drums sound like farts...very treble heavy.
i think i still have it, but its mostly because it didnt seem worth it to sell at the time. how much do they go for these days? i got mine used at my local GC for like $10.
i think its more suited for trashy nasally guitar / higher octave keyboard stuff. i'm sure theres some cool uses for it, but for what i was trying to do w/ it (smash drum machines) it wasn't my bag.
i love the look of these old arions tho. something about it drew me to it in the first place.

I was looking at these a while ago. This thread reminded me and I picked one up for relatively cheap. (well, I've seen em cheaper…)
Pretty psyched to mix it with a rig that includes a CS-2, a Dynamic Filter, a Boss RV-2 and an old DOD Compressor…
it's going to sound AWFUL!!!!

Cool! Crush the RV-2's gated reverb with it!

I only got to play around with it a little bit this weekend but so far I really like it. Most of its settings are hyper crushed and artifact-y. You can really pinch the input signal in a nasty lo-fi way. I'm going to run some drum tracks through it this week.
