Anyone try the new peavey butcher? On paper the specs look awesome.

"Made in the USA
4xEL34 100W power section & 5x12AX7 preamp tubes
Clean and Crunch Channels
Separate three band EQ on each channel
Global presence control
Two Master Volume controls for additional boost capabilities
12-way 'punch' control on channel 2 controls low end attack
Pre-Gain boost switch on both channels
Active effects loop with send and return level
Impedance selector
Half Power switch
MIDI control capability
Included footswitch controls channel, boosts, loop and master volume switching
Built in MSDIā„¢ microphone simulated direct XLR output"

I know it's nothing like the old one (It's either a complete re-design or based on a never released JSX50?), but I can't find enough info on it. Also, there aren't too many decent demos (I've seen about one I liked..the rest were bleh).

I thought it interesting that they stacked it with features, but was more disappointed it wasn't a true Butcher reissue (should've just called it something else). Minimalism bro. And the price point was up there as I recall... >$800? No thanks.

I HATE HATE! When companies do this. If you want to call it the same thing, it should be the same thing, or for something that has never gone out of production, an evolution. The "sunn" fender 1200s has been the bane of my existence ever since I got my dirty paws on a real Sunn 1200s. It makes looking for schematics or mods or any information, a complete pain in the ass. Totally different animal.
Also consider that it will cause the same issues for purchasers of the new POS that is trying to cash in on a respected name.

As far as the question, is it any good? Count the extra features, multiply that by how much effort would be required to take them out, round up, and thats how much I fucking hate this.

PEAVEY! Fucking stop! Make new things that are tough as hell, simple, and work. THat is why you are loved.

Definitely not because of this shit. :barf:

they obviously don't understand that. So in this instance that more is not moar when talking about 'features' on an amp.
