Cool looking cheap guitar

I'm looking for a second guitar. I have a Xaviere Tele which I love to bits but unfortunately the tele sound can be a bit too harsh to use all the time. I was thinking of getting maybe a guitar with P90s or less harsh single coils, or humbuckers that don't sound all dark and washed out.

Any ideas? I'd like it to be around the same quality as a Xaviere if possible, but quite cheap... and I'd like it to look nice, maybe green. I don't want a generic looking strat or anything like that.

What about the XV-910? It's semi hollow, so It might feedback like crazy.

Maybe Hagstroms?
They are a bit more than the Xaviers, around $450-500 or so. The Viking is a really nice semi-hollow body .

...and I just noticed this curious SG-Jag mix on their website:

Instead of a P90 guitar I was thinking of getting a Danelectro. Would this be a good idea? Some people say they sound qutie thin but they sounded quite thick with gain to me.

Danelectro would be a bad idea - they donated money to the campaign to ban gay marriage in California. Thus the Pedals for Peace initiative that pretty much all the builders on this forum subscribe to. I can't find you the thread ATM because the Search function seems to have been disabled.

Well, if ya got it from eBay, then no money would go to Danelectro. And in that case, a guitar is a guitar and not a [bullshit] cause + a guitar.

Okay wow thanks for letting me know. I was going to buy a TOD and Cool Cat Chorus, Dano have lost some of my money. I'll spend the name on Devi or Fuzzhugger stuff.

I was told the Danos wouldn't sound all that different from a Tele. I think a P90 guitar, or a guitar with hums that don't sound boring would be best.

Can someone throw me a site where I can get the guitars people are posting for fairly cheap? Or will I just have to eBay.

Hey check out DBZ guitars too :thumb:
And sorry but...

I hate when people mix subjects, get over the politics, we have a major problem other then that, ala big bank (non-government bank) federal reserve lining up and picking and choosing what companies they can absorb to increase their power. So if you want a dano I say buy one even if the money goes to the stupid political causes that the government should have no right to be in the first place. We should have civil unions in government, and let churches, synagogues, etc marry people

PS: Vote Ron Paul and check out infowars.com

To continue to thread derail: I understand that people like some of his more libertarian views, but I couldn't in good conscience ever vote for someone who disagrees with the separation of church and state

No offence intended, but isn't it hypocritical to tell someone to

Maybe he thought he was posting on 4chan? I dunno. I think it's a bad idea to "get over the politics" on things, while you'd probably end up boycotting everything at some point if you went too far, you have to have some standards. It's not just that I "disagree" with STEVE, it's that my money will be going to a cause that I not only disagree with, but has zero logical backing and will harm the rights of others.

I mean with products. Also I'm the church and state person (constitutionalists) plus I even contradicted my self there. I'm sorry for my rant but got to get it out sometime. :picard:

:poke: Any way after a good tip ( ;) ) I say look at this http://www.rondomusic.com/, I looked up reveiws and they had very good review (better then low end Ibanez, and mid level Deans, and Jackson). I liked the SX NGG7 but you can find lp,sg, and sweet abstract guitars in there cheap!!!

I'm leaning towards an LP body shape all of a sudden, though I didn't want one at all. But it still has to look kind of nifty, a green LP would be great. Unless there's a really good epiphone one I'll wait see if Guitarfetish gets one in.
