Question about expression control with the Bitquest!

I was gonna PM Dr Ryantist but figured i'd open this up in case other people were curious about the same thing or some DIY folk were able to do it-

I wanna get a second bitquest, because after being a bit overwhelmed initially i've finally settled on a couple of magical settings that i absolutely love and use all the time, one being an infinite reverb with the expression pedal controlling decay time to swell it in for pad drones, and also using the delay mode fully wet, time and feedback fully ccw with the random modulation set to get this awesome sampling/stretching sound, but for that one i would kill to be able to control the modulation via expression pedal rather than the delay time.

Would it be possible to modify the Bitquest so that the expression pedal jack is controlling the CTRL0 knob instead of the CTRL1 knob? I figure the box is too crammed full of science to fit a switch to toggle what the expression controls so i'd be happy to just get a second one and have that done to it if it's possible.
Not the end of the world if it's not possible but i'm salivating over the possibilities here.

Hey Drew! I like this idea too, I wish I had a way to change the expression input on the pcb or something.. the problem is I'm out of room. And to switch the expression control I'll need a DPDT switch on the board, and that's just to get two choices. I don't think it's something that can be done DIY since it takes so many pcb connections and they're all little traces on the pcb, on both sides.. there's just no reasonable way to pull it off.

And I've got another 200 pcbs to go through before I'd be up for doing any little changes.. that's probably a year of work at least.. so on the plus side I've got some time to ponder the mod. *smile* I agree though, it would be powerful to have a choice of what you're expression controlling.

If you do go for a second BQ, don't forget about your birthday discount or blems! *wink*

just saying, you're not alone in the endless questing. but no, i have no idea.

It's kinda tough code hey.. once I finished the BitQuest I've been only working in the Arduino IDE and the code is a lot more straight forward. Spin is like assembly and Arduino is like C++. If you get into programming the Spin (you have the developer kit?) I'd show you how to change the code to change what controls what.

I'd offer that as a mod but it's something that would take me a bit of time in the code, there'd be lots to change, and I don't really love having some pedals in the world that work one way while others work another way.. it kinda doubles the mod work I'd end up having to do given the buy/sell nature of the industry, nahmean? I'd rather it be a pushbutton switch on the pcb.. one day... sorry for the disappointing news in here guys!
