My usual trio Sunday Boxing hasn't played in a year and a half and have lost our guitarist in the interim. But we got asked to fill a bill at a supersmall bar called Tommy's Pub here in Charlotte with a (very, VERY cool) band called Sister Helen http://sisterhelen.bandcamp.com/ on the road from Brooklyn and a local man/woman guitar/vox/cello duo called Porcelain http://www.reverbnation.com/weareporcelain who were melodic, deep and excellent.
I am a person that likes to say yes to things so we took the gig as a duo. The Panthers were in the playoffs Saturday night so we were unlikely to get more than a few people in but the game was on the TV there so we just started drinking.
So I played bass half the set and guitar half with my ABSynth and Algal Bloom and looped with my M9, DD5 and Superego and had fun. We arrived at 8 and by halftime around 9:20 I was 6 Jacks in, so we played at 9:30 best we could. Enjoy. Or don't wanna fight about it?
