So I was thinking to myself as I sit here and listen to The Herbaliser's Something Wicked This Way Comes, I wonder how many people listen to this kind of music? I don't even know what to classify it as? What is some of the best music you've heard that not a lot of people you've met listen to?

My wife's best friend was dating this Mexican guy, they didn't last as a couple but we've become like, real life best best buds in the last few years and his music taste is very sympatico with mine. We now order records together to save on shipping, we went on a hetero man date to see Nadja/thisquietarmy in December and on Saturday we are going to see Pharmakon together. We don't like all the same stuff and can actively say "oh I think that's shit" and no one gets offended because we're adults. You like how I pointed out he's Mexican, right? We went to this death metal show a few years back and I was super fucking drunk and there were all these sketchy WP dudes there kvlting around the bar, and I was like, having a great time and chatting with everyone and I'm like HEY GREAT DEATHKEY HOODIE MAN DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS GUY HE'S MEXICAN BUT HE'S SUPER COOL, IT'S FINE SO LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS and they're looking at me like I'm crazy because I look like a super fucking out of place hip guy at some kvlt metal show, I was telling my wife when I got home and was laughing and she's like "they might have hate crimed you both" and I'm like whatever baby they looked like total pussies, we could have taken them. Man I got so loaded at that show. It was bad news.

Then in October one of my best friends was getting married the same night King Diamond were playing and I was the MC at his wedding so I couldn't go and he was like, live texting me pics of the show and I was like I HOPE YOU DIE FRIEND.

I've got some band shirts that are way too small for me now that I'm in my mid 30s and drink beer so I'm giving him a bunch tomorrow. I hope he doesn't read this board, it'll ruin the surprise.
