I have an assignment for you guys, a liitle experiment that I can't try myself cause I don't have a HM-2. Not yet that is, cause there's this dirt cheap one I can get a hold of, but I'm only gonna grab it if I like the answer to this question:

What does it sound like with a half dead battery in it? Or if anyone has a power supply with a 5 or 6 volt output: Do me a favor, try it, and maybe you'll thank me later.

Cheers.

Ahaa...Cheers. Just like I remember hearing or reading somewhere a looong time ago. Wish I could find a clip somewhere to give me better idea though. I've got pretty high standards when it comes to sputtery fuzz peds these days, not sure if it's even worth getting the $35 hm-2 and modding it with some sort of starve toggle/pot.

If you read further down it talks about aca adapters and 12v... With a battery it's straight Metal but with a one spot it starts to get sputtery and velcro... I tried it with Jero's Voltage Starver and it just turns off below about 7v... :thumb:

I see. Either way, for the little money it costs, it's probably worth just getting the HM-2 and flip it when I get bored of it.

It does get pretty boring after a while.

I tried it out (voltage starving it) and it goes get velcro-fuzzy, also gated a little. Sounds cool with an Electric Mistress after it.

Coolest thing about the HM-2 is the bass boost IMO. It's good for stacking but I don't like the way it sounds alone at all.

My HM-2 doesn't even power on with a one spot, or my PP2 w/o the dip switch pulled.

I was just messing with mine today and I love it.

they're fun when you're using two of them
