cross post from the DIY section, as I dont thimk many breauxs and fembreauz read that page...
Here is a demo of my newly build madbean dirtbaby compared to other memory men in my possession

The Dirtbag uses 2 x MN3005 (many peoples holy grail chips)
The EHX uses 4 x MN3008 (with the analog man input gain mod performed by me)
The Dirtbaby uses a PT2399 digital echo
The Dirtbaby aliases and has a bit more background noise, but this may be due to the PT chip itself. For my money though, it cops the vibe of the real one, particularly at the more modest delay settings shown, whereas longer delays the noise factor isnt as musical as a real BBD delay.
For the record I always felt my dirtbag was quite dark, and I use a 330pF clock capacitor rather than the stock 240pF so that might have some influence on it...

I checked this out before bed but forgot to reply in the morning. The Dirtbaby sounds killer. I'd love one of those, and as I stated in the DIY-section; DEM GRÆFIX!

The PT2399 is one of the best ways to emulate a Deluxe Memory Man.
Funny, your Dirtbag sounds more like a Memory Boy to me, it's a bit darker and has less of the delay cloud thing going on.

It needs to be re-calibrated I think, and probably the mod that I did changed back to compensate...
basically I made it so that I can get extra delay time but I think that also impacted the tone a bit.
Anyway to adjust all that It is quite time consuming so I didnt bother to do that for the sake of the video, the main comparison was to see the PT vs the real EHX pedal.
Im looking forward to receive another PT chip from a different distributor which is hopefully lower noise
