Anyone know what fuzz is being used? It has this great old sound that I don't even know. I'm regretfully limited in my fuzz experience, with just a muff, fuzz factory, and joyo voodoo octave. The fuzz sound has this awesome vintage rumble to it that I don't know how to recreate but I want it.

depending on which tone you are talking about, it could be any combination of a Bit Commander, Mini, Big Muff, and Speaker Cranker. I'm leaning toward this mini based on the settings in that pic.

When it came time to make HEAL, EarthQuaker generously gave us every single one of their pedals! There are moments on some guitar solos where I think we signal chained at least 15 pedals at once.

I recently got a mini and I love the way it stacks with my hyperion. Especially running the mini into the hyp; it adds just that extra bit of bite and pick attack. I've always thought that I could get my near-ideal main fuzz sound from the hyperion if it had a clean blend, but running the mini into it gets me pretty close to what I'd imagined.

Last summer, I took a Taylor GSmini with me on a 2-month bicycle tour, thinking I'd get a bunch of songs written while on the road. I'm sure you can guess how that went!


Anyways, this new Strand of Oaks album has some incredible tones; would really love to nerd out on the signal chains, haven't been able to dig up much yet. I really love the vocal sounds too, especially the drier ones on this song's verses:

I agree with everything said. This album is SO GOOD! It's outside my normal style, and is think that makes me love it all the more. Every track has great tones, be it guitar or keys or even the drums. Some of the slower ones have the coolest reverb on the drums I just love.

Hadnt heard of them till now. Good stuff, kinda Neil Young-ish in a way, with tasty J Mascis style soloing here and there
