devi ever wrote:Oh... and yeah... I'm totally buying a HD big screen TV to see these movies on... even though I have to wait for them to come out on torrent / dvd / itunes because FUuUuuuuUUuuuuufuuuffffcuuuuuucck movie theaters. I went to see Watchmen at the IMAX, and the fuckwad next to me actually pulls out chewing tobacco and starts gnawing away at that shit, spitting it into his cup... so not only do I get the awesome!™ smell of saliva drenched tobacco, but the sound of *spit* *spit* at regular intervals every few minutes during Dr. Manhattan's dramatic monologue flashback sequence.

I've had better experiences with eBay and paypal than I've ever had at a movie theater.

My wife threatened to rent a "revolution road" tonight, I htold her that she could forget about wolverine on fathers day, then, and get ready for Terminator. So really either way I win.

Star Trek =

Very, very well done.
Spock, Kirk, Scotty, Bones, AND Chekov are all just as good or better than the originals. Especially Chekov and Bones.

Bottom line is that movie is one big nerdgasm. Still good for people who don't know anything about Star Trek too.

Transformers 2 is the exact opposite of Nerdgasm though. They go out of their way to way to distance themselves from the "nerdy" part of the whole thing, everything's big and explosions and MICHAEL BAY and it comes off as obnoxious towards anything Transformers related that can before, to the extent where some of the vicious little cunts behind the movie openly attacked the portion of the fanbase that rejected it.

Star Trek got it exactly right, it denerdified the franchise without being too disrespectful to the nerds themselves. The characters were actually recognisable and it was still enjoyable by the mass audience. I'm dreading TF2 though. I hope the Macross movie shows it how to do transforming robots right.

How come nobody mentioned District 9? That's really the only one I'm looking forward to on the level of nerdgasm. And Star Trek was good, but there was something just meh :idk: about it all.

Star Trek was amazing.

I don't expect much from Transformers, outside of maybe starscream getting more than 3 minutes of screen time.

Not sure how I feel about the new terminator, but it already looks better than the last film
