For the record, on the very, very rare occasion I eat a burger, I eat it with spicy mustard. I guess I'm not a normal guy anymore.

Yes the news here is like that.
“we're all gonna die” followed by jokes and “we're all gonna die” again.
Obama actually gets it less than Bush did.
It's actually more about getting viewer ratings than real news, so if they just stretch the truth, or leave out facts that changes how the story sounds, that's all right.
Hey Journalist just means “I wanted to be an actor but can't remember lines”
Fox does have the best news babes though.
Our former miss (insert state, country etc here) is prettier than yours.

Sadly there are people here who will put ketchup on every thing.
Eggs, Steak ham, you name it.
And they think they are normal.
Of course this may stem from the early British influence where you cook all the flavor out of every thing.
