My pedalboard is fucked up.

I think it's time to get rid of the SKB PS-45 and move on to things that actually work.
Played a gig this past weekend and the whole board shit out on me. Had to just go guitar to amp.
Thinking about picking up a pedalboard with an external power supply (voodoo power, something like that)
Won't be able to buy until I sell some guitar stuff. Max budget probably $250 all together.
Need a board at LEAST as big as the PS-45. Would like to be able to tuck cables under board.
What would you guys suggest?

If your max budget is $250 you need to look into scoring stuff used I would think.
You could nab a Pedaltrain 2 and the Voodoo labs, both new for like $310. I'd probably try to grab a pedaltrain used and then buy the voodoo labs new.

Used is totally what I'm thinking. It doesn't HAVE to be pedaltrain either. If there are any other companies that can do basically the same for less, I'm interested. Especially smaller companies, I'd always rather support smaller shops.

I see Pedaltrain Pros with PP2+ attached pop up on Reverb in your budget. Just gotta keep an eye out. The soft case version, but still...

Why are they so much more than the SKB?

I say build the board yourself and save money for the decent power supply.

Time is money, & the more time you have the more money you can save.
If you need it right away, then you're stuck with whatever you can find, but if you can shop patiently you should have no problem at all picking up a PT2 or maybe even a 3 or Pro and Voodoo Labs ISO5 or PP2+ in the range you're looking.
But yeah, even if you're on a tight budget don't fuck around on the power. Get the best power alternative you can afford first, after that you can screw your pedals to a sheet of plywood until you find a good deal on a board for all I care. What ever works and keeps them secure.
I'm currently stomping on a PT Pro and Voodoo PP2+ set up. I power 7 pedals and an RJM Mini Amp Gizmo off my PP2+ and except for a touch of reverb hiss my set up is as dead silent as any tube amp set up I've ever heard. I'm also using a Rocktron Loop 8 pedal switcher for most of my pedals, and a Rockton Midi-Mate to control it all.

Oh man that's pretty solid.

People make quick pedalboards out of Ikea Grom (or gorm?) shelves, slap some handles on it. Between that, velcro and the VooDoo labs PP2, your well within the $250 range. If your feeling ingenious, try to make it to fit in a keyboard softcase.

Thanks. This forum cuts off my pics, so you can't see the whole board. If you copy the image location and paste it in your browser it will give you the full thing. It's funny, on another forum I was told my board was "...a mess of a pedal board filled with a hodge podge of wastefulness " and a "rats nest" because it didn't have the pre-approved upon cork sniffer pedal collection, and a few xtra cables for routing on my switcher.

Exactly! I've seen a bunch of beautiful Gorm boards that rival some expensive ass custom jobs.

As someone who has the Pedaltrain Pro with the flight case... I want a soft case. The flight case is downright embarassing dragging it to a local gig. Great for touring but for local gigs it is wayyyyy overkill.

Soft/hard case doesn't matter, it does need a case. Preferably the less blingy as possible, I gig in Detroit.
