I've been looking into getting something like this or the EQD Arrows to run in front of everything, but it's hard to find reviews that are based on our sort of music. Glad to know it works well.

EQD Jamie says the arrows is not an echoplex pre. But it will probably do the same deal.
Also suss out the Henretta Emerald Prince. Kevin did me a badass deal on one and it is fucking rad.
And tiny, so no board real estate taken up by an always on effect.
And it does everything Whisky said.

Yeah - Jamie seemed pretty adamant that it's completely unrelated to the EP, but the description makes it seem like it would fit my needs just as well or better than an EP pre.

Yeah man it was on my short list for these sort of peds as well.
But as I was discussing it, Kevin dropped this badass sale price on his remaining enclosures and I couldn't say no.
Glad I caved.
I was considering this Dunlop one as well, if you can get it on the cheap and you've got the space, I'd say go for it.
But I am definitely throwing in my 2c for the Henretta.
Has nice grit, definitely aids in helping cut through. Sauces up your gainz.

Funny, I use a Rattail as my stack-everything-with-it pedal. Need to get my Fuck fixed sometime too...

I know everyone loves their fucks at the end of their chains, but if I had the fuck set for any noticeable grit, it squashed my TAFM too much for my liking. Where I can normally play fast runs with clarity, it made it too gooey.

I've always had mine at the beginning of the chain, with my pickle pie b last, and various other dirt in the middle... :idk:

All different flavours, man.
All different flavours.

Since its introduction, that's been the best looking Echoplex pre pedal on the market. A real beauty.
I still want one, in spite of the DMM essentially being a tapeless EP-3...that completely nails the pre-amp.
So I typically use one for a similar purpose.

Step 1: Acquire big box DMM (non true bypass)
Step 2: Crank Level knob
Step 3: Route signal from Direct out or use Blend knob for all-dry in Echo out, bringing echo swell in via knob sweeps

Not only does clean guitar sound more interesting...but any fuzz in front is given new emphasis at all the right frequencies :animal:

After jamming with Aaron, I can fully attest to this.
