I'm not going to admit that it exists.

Fuck that. That's part of the reason why writing about things you enjoy can suck, particularly if you have to do it to eat.

I don't have to, it's more of a part time/CV cred thing for me... but yeah. This one was a chore
sometimes I'm really glad when I suggest writing about some underground band and they tell me it's not a good choice for them... don't have to ruin it by listening it from a critical point of view

Its the recordings that didn't make the cut for the last one.

And the last one wasn't exactly great either... I wouldn't say Endless River sucks though, it's just really, really bland. It's like they took the skeleton from a couple of good Floyd-songs and let Moby remix them into ambient jams. But whatever, I don't think anybody expected something mindblowing.
Listened to Meddle and the live section from Ummagumma earlier today, had to remind myself how much I love these guys.

I really don't even like the Wall that much; anything after Animals was really lost on me.
But this one was especially lame.

It'll prolly go triple platinum or some shit because the average listener will think it's the return of Jesus.

I'm a huge Floyd fan. My late brother got me into them when I was about eleven-- over 25 years ago now. I saw the Division Bell tour, and I saw Roger Waters do his In The Flesh tour. I've heard pretty much everything they've released, and I like just about all of it for one reason or another.
I just listened to "Louder Than Words" from this new album, and... I see why it was left off the Division Bell (an album that, as a whole, I like quite a bit). First impressions mean a lot, and my first impression was, "why did they rip the lead from Roger's 'Each Small Candle'?" I hope it was intentional because it is nearly identical. Seems like Gilmour still has trouble writing lyrics, too, as these were awful. Based on the one song, I like his last solo project more.
I forget who it was-- either Waters or Gilmour-- but one of them said that Pink Floyd could cut a record of them passing gas, and it would still sell a million copies. Mmm hmm.
I would like to give the whole album a listen, so if anyone has a (legal) link for me to listen, I would appreciate it.

I liked the few minutes of it I heard better than the Final cut, but that does exactly make me want to rush out and listen to the whole thing, really I'm not that big on anything they did after the first song on darkside.

in my opinion, it's sort of a mixture of bad 90s tv show music (think Renegade) mixed with some space rock synth pads and one extremely mediocre song with vocals, which would not stand even among the most mediocre songs from the last two albums (which, again, I quite like). this album would be shit in 94 or 95 and it's shit now as well
it does take you back, the sound is there... but it'S all form and no content
fyi Louder than Words might be the most "entertaining" track because it's the most cohesive one, but i still enjoy some of the ambient moody things more. Wright really shines at a few places. But it's just... not... a good... record

I bet the music sucks as much as the cover does.
David Gilmour needs to be put out to pasture.
