I will forever like my DD-20 as a go to precision digital delay with great sound and nifty features. I do enjoy my Headrush E2 occasionally as a delay though.

Yuuup. Great delay with modulation that goes from subtle to bat shit crazy. UMP, so good.

Let's see...Digitech RDS-series rack delays. LFO hell fun.

Digitech Timebender. THIS will be the stupid expensive out of production toy in ten years that you will wish you bought now.

Alesis Quadraverb+ (get a regular one, upgrade the EPROM for $10). The hands down best programmable grainy digital multitap delay ever made. It does things that modern units still don't do.

Lexicon Vortex. Again, does stuff no mortal delay has ever done. Dual interlaced programmable delays, morphing presets (the originator of them), LFO fun on crack. Full-bore stereo digital delay stuff on crack. Also does a very decent Leslie and Echorec-type platter clatter, and everything is dynamic envelope following stuff from mars.

You could get all of these for $400 and make sounds that the devil would hide from.

Eqd disaster transport is pretty rad, with a nice modulation section.

All of the Catalinbread delays are fucking epic. Some truly great research and work were put into all of them, and it shows.
