Fender Vaporizer

G'day fellow ILFers.
I just happened to find someone selling a Fender Vaporizer online in mint condish for a pretty decent price.
What do y'all think of this amp? Should I go for it? Ignore it? Has anyone owned or played one before???
FYI:
I am currently looking for an amp to jam at my house with (I play bass in a band...guitar is more a hobby), but could possibly be used to jam for fun with friends. I am hoping, to find something with a nice clean ("vintage") tone, as the rest will come from my board. Not looking to spend a lot of money as I am kinda poor and have a bad addiction to buying a new pedal every pay cheque.
tl;dr: What are your thoughts on the Vaporizer, should I buy this one I found, why.
THANKS!

I had one, sold it after maybe two months. It's a nice sounding amp, but it wasn't clean enough to me. Got break-up at ca. ten o' clock on the volume knob. Not a bad amp at all, but if you're looking for clean headroom you should look elsewhere. I was more content with the Pro Junior I had at one point. If you can do with some break-up it's cool though.

Thanks Eivind!
I don't mind some break-up, for me I'm cool as long as I can make my weird/spaced out/surf shit lol.
I may look into it, guy is selling for $250. Even if I don't love it, that is like $200 less than in store over here.
Might be something to tide me over until I see something better, not much in my price range currently.

I haven't played one, but I watched the reviews of it. It seemed pretty awesome. 250.00 doesn't seem like a a bad deal on it. What color is it?

Sadly the red. I was hoping for the surfer green! But yeah, it's not bad at all.

I really like using spring reverb into a broken up amp, surf city!

I liked the Excelsior more personally, that and a big muff and I was set for lonely jammms.

For that price, it's a lot of amp! The reverb on it is crazy, should be cool for some psychosurf.

I plan on buying one when my finances aren't a mess of epic proportions. Seems like a nice looking amp and decent enough for home playing and maybe a quieter 2 piece or 3 piece. Dat reverb tho.

Having 100% wet verb and a maximize everything switch seems really useful to me.

Yeah, the 'verb is kinda what has me interested. That plus I think they look cool.
I'll check guitar centre, but is that 'murican prices? Up here, usually in store they go for just over $400.

One thing I do love is the Vaporizor footswitch that maxes out the volume and tone for instant vaporization. It is totally impractical and nobody gets it when they try the amp out because they think its a channel switcher.

I have many laughs at GC watching people jump from fright when they hit it.

I keep thinking this is a legalization thread...
