For those kick yourself in the face moments. (should this go in general discussion?? fuggit)
I have a few..

1) Saved up a grand to buy my first head when I was 14. When straight onto Musicians Friend and bought a Fender MH-500 Metal Head because of the 500 watts that thing supposedly had, also my homie said that tube amps were retarded. Goddamnit if I didn't have the loudest setup around though. Now that I think about it though, I feel like some of you guys would be stoked off of one of those. For dem SS toanz.
2) Traded an FZ-2 for an SD-1 because 17 year old me hated fuzz
3) Sold my Sound City 50 I got from archillin for almost nothing to cover bills..

What about you fellas?

I bought a Roland Jupiter-4 (vintage analog synthesizer) for 300 EUR in 2007 only to sell it on a few months later, because money was short. I wish I still had this beauty. That's the only sale that I deeply regret. :(

The FZ-2 is great! I had lots of fun with it today. It can be a very wicked effect, but properly played it makes my guitar sing beautifully!

I gave away my first guitar (a shitty Eagle SG-replica) to a friend who turned out to be a an inconsiderate ass. He set the guitar on fire one week later because he was drunk, bored and figured he'd never be any good at playing guitar. Best duder. Would have been cool to still have laying around. I played my first gig with that shitty guitar.

In high school, I thought I would need the most amp there could be, so I got a 3 channel 100 watt Mesa with multi modes and all these bells and whistles. It was totally overkill at a time when I would have been happy with a decent distortion pedal but I had been convinced that distortion pedals were all terrible sounding and only pre/power tubes could give me a decent sound. What a dumbass I was.

I've also been through a slew of low range guitars that all of since departed. I wish I had locked that money in a safe (or maybe some kind of "bank") and spent it on a dream guitar.

Basically misallocation of limited funds is my big regret.

Oh also I lent a friend my Tascam 4 track and never saw it again.

I sold my first guitar, a Squier affinity Tele when I got into a post hardcore band years ago. I was only playing LPs back then and the hardware was shit - I had to set it up every other week. I wish I had kept it and upgraded it, I'm sure I'd still be playing it in alternative tunings or something.
I sold my first pedal, an EHX little Big Muff years ago when I was really short to a friend. He later sold it to a friend of his and we lost track of it so I'm unable to get it back. A really good friend offered to give me his that is from the same era as mine as he doesn't care for it anymore and has no emotional value to him. I really love that dude.
Of every piece of gear I've had over the years, that's pretty much it.

sold a lovetone flanger for about £300 when I needed cash. a few years later I coulda got treble that...

other than that, I am a hoarder. I sell very little.
I sold an SG once but I never regretted it as I didnt like the balance.
I gave away a yamaha pacifica to a now ex-gf; i hope she learnt to play it or at least still owns it.

my biggest regrets revolve around being too poor at the time to collect fx that are now unobtainium, either in pure cash or rarity.

I kinda regret selling my old Lovepedal Vibe. Would've fit on the board I'm using now, and it's the only modulation I've ever gotten along with. Sometimes I regret selling my Wattson Superfuzz. Given a bunch of pedals and a couple of guitars away to close friends, kinda miss them, but still get to play with them occasionally.

Regret being a stupid teen, wasting money on a Top Hat combo and a PRS that got sold at a loss the moment I first tried a Jazzmaster and an oscillating fuzz, realizing I had come home.

My only regret is when I bought my first guitar, a nice LPB Fender Tele (MIM) and I didn't really put a lot of effort into learning to play so I traded it for some cash and some furniture.

Only regret.

My first louder amplifier was a Line 6 spider, which I really couldn't become friends with. Luckily I managed to sell it quite quickly for something else.

I do regret selling my Red Witch Titan delay, best sounding delay I've ever had, But I needed the money and didn't use it enough to justify keeping it. It was the first 'boutique' pedal I'd ever owned as well

Neither really. I've made enormous losses on selling things but that's a money thing and worrying about money is pointless. I'm pretty sure i used all the stuff for a while anyway.
I feel a bit stupid for buying so much new stuff as a teenager when I probably could have got some pretty insane gear on the used market for the same price, but meh. We learn from these experiences.

yeah buying stuf new. i paid $350 for a dd20...... sold it for 150 and then bought another for 170 which i then sold for 140..... could have got cooler shit with that $$$

selling stuff and buying it back feels dumb

i dont really regret selling much, maybe my sg (first guitar) for sentimental reasons, but it looked gross and didnt play that well. i miss some sounds from pedals but if i sell them they usually dont work practically for me at the time and i can usually buy them back

I bought my Fender 100 head and Crate cab from a friend that then told me he got it $100 less than he sold it for. I had a whammy that crapped out then got stolen from my room by a roommate, and lost an Acoustic 136 amp when a coworker moved out of town. Said nothing, didn't tell work, just disappeared.

Trading Bandmaster Reverb head and Fender cab with Alnico JBL's. Letting my brother borrow my Hiwatt Lead 50 combo to be lost in a still undisclosed manner. I'd like to have both amps still, though the Hiwatt wasn't as cool as a DR.

Selling an original red & black tone bypass Muff for what I paid for it the same year in the mid 90s. I'm not a big fan of Muffs still, but if I could have held off a few years I would have tripled my money.
