Recycled Teisco

I had put this together to see if I could get it to work, and it did:
The body and neck are from an old Teisco that hbombgraphics gave me in pieces.
I cut out the pickguard from an Ikea recycling bin that my wife didn't want anymore, and dremeled it to make it smooth and bevel the edges.
The pickup is an old Danelectro lipstick (it has since been mounted to the pickguard, which is nice, because if I need to do any work to it, I can take the whole pickguard with pickup off in one motion.)
The bridge is also from Teisco, it's an adjustable height and adjustable intonation roller bridge which is actually pretty neat.
The tailpiece is actually from my old P-Bass. I flipped the plate around and drilled 2 extra holes for the strings, and was able to use it to hardtail the guitar.
I was going to use the original Teisco trem, but it wasn't the most stable thing in the world and I think I lost a few parts to it.
But I got it together, it really just needs a brass nut to be completely finished. In the meantime I cut a temporary nut out of a telecaster bridge plate that I had already mangled. It works, surprisingly.
Now I'm actually finishing the body up so I don't feel like I'm going to get a splinter when I play it haha
Rattlecan job last night using some leftover spraypaint that I found that must've been my wife's at some point, for something.
It's kind of like a muted/dulled surf green color, or like a mint.
The body itself really sucked up the paint. Used almost an entire can on it, and that was just to get a thin finish on top of it.
You can still see the grain here and there (moreso on the back of the guitar), but for the most part it's a solid coating. I kind of like that you can see the gain in some spots.
The next step is going to be to poly it. I'm not going to to rub on poly for it, because honestly I don't want to wait that long haha.
Going to be doing satin spray poly- it's my first time working with it, but I've heard that it coats a little thicker and is overall a little faster than doing a rub on poly finish.
I'm hoping to build up several layers of the spray poly and sand between each of them to get the body super smooth.
Going to do the first coat of poly tonight and let it dry overnight. Tomorrow at some point between building pedals I'm going to sand it down and do the second coat.
