Recommend a Nine Inch Nails pedal

Tell me about a pedal that will sound like an amalgam of various songs from the best of Reznor's catalog. It can be a multi-effect pedal, but you will lose points if you recommend more than one unit, unless you can post an example of 2 pedge working together to validate your point. I'm being intentionally vague about what specific effect I want to reproduce, but I have faith in your imaginations. if it can make the pssht-squuck sounds in "Closer" then you're on the right track, but that's not a deal-maker/breaker.

Take a distortion pedal. Record it direct. Process the shit out of it. Reamp it if you want it less synth like.

Other than the Geiger Counter, I'd say the Holowon Umiom for ugly synthetic distortion with a wide filter sweep.

I used to totally nail the guitar tone in "Physical (You're So)" with my Super Puzzle.

That's a pretty loaded question. Yeah, Geiger Counter is definitely up there, also the Hexe Bitcrusher could do a lot of it too with the telephone filter and the modulation. A metal-distortion into a slight bit crush is the perfect NIN digitized crunch.

Aside from the Geiger Counter, which I describe to people who ask about it as "Nine Inch Nails in a box", I've always thought of the ZVex Machine or Death by Audio Octave Clang when I hear those bass lines.
But, just to be a pain, and since ILF is the definition of fuzz excess, I'm going to say:
Boss LS-2(or other paralell looper) Loop 1:Geiger Counter, Loop 2:Octave Clang

From what I saw from interviews and pictures, he uses a lot of DAW processing, mainly native instruments reaktor, especially on his new guitar sounds and how to destroy angels. But he also has a palace of modular, pedals, and he owns like every single piece of Metasonix gear  I wish :grumpy: I figure he combines a lot of different things to get unique sounds.
