my recent partscaster side project.
specs for anyone who cares -
GFS Paulownia Black Sparkle double bound Body (standard tele rout, which was freehand routed to fit the tele deluxe layout) + some used squier strat neck i picked up for peanuts. Squier vintage modified guard, Fender Deluxe locking tuners(FYI the thickest gauge it will accept is a .54, which was what i so happened to purchase... almost cried when it didnt slide in as easily as the others). GFS hardtail bridge, string through (damn waiting for ferrules again!) Pickups are GFS Neck (Mean/Dream? 90. not sure got donated so free!) and an Entwistle Pickups Nemesis (wired with a toggle for series/parallel) pickup selector has been wired up backwards,

unfortunately in a rush, pickup selector toggle up is bridge and down is neck. and the 2 knobs closest to the bridge control the bridge pickup. will fix these bits later... great cheap side project for myself...and the 5th partscaster on the belt.

body is super lightweight (Paulwonia is a stupid soft wood, didnt stand a chance against my router) almost has a hollow body type feel to it (and its not because i routed a whole chunk out). coupled with the big headstock and locking tuners, makes it neck dive a bit, but its not uncomfortable. still a bit more work to do with intonation and setup, but will get there in the end.

Just spent hte better half of my day off adjusting the action and intonation. finally got it pretty playable. and after a solid few hours of playing...im considering changing the pickups.
they suit the "Stealth" look but i think i can get the same or similiar tones out of my other guitars

so...what are some quirky, weirdo , different suggestions?

humbucker sized/faux filtertron, retrotron, toaster tron, kenttrons ? (no idea what these are called)
gretschbucjers (off the electromatic series that people seem to hate because its not "that gretsch sound"
PRS starla pickups? prob end up costing more than the guitar itself!
lipstick humbuckers? do they come in black?
humbucker sized wide range?

hmmm...

I don't really have any pickup suggestions, just came in here to say that guitar is extremely good looking!
