Sorry, not new Church of Misery. I hadn't checked it out yet and I'm not that familiar with their stuff. It came across Spotify, and I thought it was a new release. It was a re-release of The Second Coming.

I haven't checked these guys out before just because the name is so stupid, but that was not bad. Probably not anything I'll freak out over but pretty cool.

It's not as bad as Sadiowitch makes it seem but it's not creeping up my top 10 list.

New Bongripper is great, wonderful birthday present that was.

The new wizard isn't horrible. Just boring. And the band is responsible for so many lame clones that I just kinda can't care.

Fair enough mate. I bought like, 70+ new releases this year according to my discogs collection. I do not have time for boring.

oh yeah I totally agree. Lazy is a perfect description of it. It's like they know so long as they chuck a few 70s occult boobs in people are going to buy it anyway.

I am definitely one of those people, but the way I approach it is that bands like Wizard do what they do. Don't expect any reinvention of the wheel, just variations of that theme. Which is cool when you don't want to think to hard about things.
And, lets face it, 70s occult boob music should not be subject to intellectual dissection at any stage of the game. It is what it is.
Having said that, I thought the new one was solid. In that I didn't have high expectations and it wasn't disappointing, just more of the same.
Again, variations on the witch tit theme.

hahaha. Yeah I mean there's not expecting variation on a theme but it's sort of...reaching saturation point for how much I can care about a band putting out progressively more boring records.
