I'd get one just for the cosmetics, one hasn't ever passed through my fingers. Roland of that era is built like tanks, has tons of options, and I have yet to see any in proper working condition that didn't sound amazing.

Whoa. That is really odd. I recognize so many features from the Space Echo in that box. Just not the effects.
So a digital delay line with regeneration that's switchable to really short time with a fixed modulation rate (i.e.--chorus)? Do you suppose that's 12 bit or lower? Or did Roland dabble in non-PCM digital early on, like Deltalabs did, making standard bit depth measures not really apply?

Doesn't look like digital from Google-fu, more bucket brigade stuff.
YT video alongside a 301 (which I owned for over a decade) leads me to believe it's just the original JC-type circuit in a bigger box with more options.
Subtle and fun, and I'd have it just as a conversation piece for the right price, but as an "effect" by modern standards pretty tame.

It pretty much is as far as I know. Almost got one myself, but it woulda been redundant.
The CE one is the JC chorus section. I forget what the hall echo is, but also pretty tame.
But the aesthetics alone are worth it.

Yea, I have a JC50 so redundant.

OMG, that's so awesome. In the 80s (I suspect) they lied and said analog was digital, and in the current day they're lying and saying that digital delays are analog. (Not that there's anything wrong with a good PT2399 pedal.) There's a Yakov Smirnoff "In Soviet Russia" joke in there.
