High Powered Tube Bass Heads?

So I played an svt for the first time ever at a show yesterday (it was a classic), and I feel like I can never go back to my rig, which is mostly comprised of super loud guitar heads.
I honestly loved the classic and they seem to be goin for a good price on the bay (around 800), but are there some other options out there for a similar price I should keep in mind?

A used Peavey Classic 400 is about the same price as what you say the used SVT Classic is, and has more wattage too.

The Classic is a great amp. For that price (roughly 800) you could probably find a SVT-4 and i think these sound amazing. For a little more you could get the SVT-VR. Also, for a little more, you might be able to find a Mesa 400 or 400+. Those are really great heads. I tried a Fender Bassman 1200 last month. it was 1200 watts and 300 dollars. it kinda blew me away.
I found my vintage SVT for a really great price. Just keep you eyes peeled and something should pop up for you.

yeah I prefer the VR's a little more too just because I use pedals for gain. The old SVT II pros are pretty mad as well. I love the power of the Mesa 400 but the idea of having to replace 50 tubes when you service it has always put me off, also I just kinda can't quite vibe with the sound of them.
If you wanna get really fancy there's the 400 watt hiwatt too!

SVT's are fucking great, as well as the more rare Fender/Sunn 300 Pro

For your $800 budget there are a few other decent choices.
Traynor has the YBA 200 and YBA 300 heads and they should falls within your range used.
Peavey has the VB-2 heads. I have one of these and I really like it. I used to have an Orange AD200B which slayed but the Peavey sounds really good, it has a decent amount of headroom, it isn't overly heavy but you can tell it has some decent iron in it. Plus it is made in the USA. Basically this amp made me realize how overpriced the Orange was.

I forgot about those. Those sound soooo good. Relatively affordable too.
I have a 76 Ampeg V6b. It's 200 SS watts and almost matches the SVT in terms of air moved. Those things can be had for around $400.

am I the only one that thinks the AD200B's are actually kind of rubbish? I almost bought one brand new for a crazy steal price, like a quarter of retail, had the cash in my pocket and everything. But it was just...meh. The louder you turned it up the more the bottom end just crapped out on it.
Or do other people NOT want dub like bottom end?

I want both. That's why I use a crossover.

To each their own. I don't like the muddy low end. I just want rasp.

Your AD200B definitely slayed, but if the VB2 is just as good then I'll probably buy one of those.
I also want a high powered tube bass head, but it's lower on my list after a baritone guitar and more effects
