Dark Ambientz

Been digging into some dark ambient stuff lately and I want to know what else is out there besides Lustmord.

http://cryochamber.bandcamp.com is an awesome online label for this kind of stuff and I really like what I'm hearing, but I would like to expand my horizons! I also love any ambient pieces that appear on most black metal records, like stuff that bookends albums by Burzum, Striborg, Nortt, etc...

Maybe not necessarily what you're looking for but a few I listen to regularly:

Yellow Swans - huge discography but I higly recommend Going Places. Decension and At All Ends are good too.

Ben Frost- BY THE THROAT and A U R O R A

Tim Hecker - maybe not really what your into but Harmony in Ultta Violet and Virgins

I wasnt able to listen to the label before doing these recs, I just love those three and they can be considered dark ambient.

Deathprod is all sorts of unnerving. Their used boxset is on Amazon for the low price of $48.88 up to $230. I suggest you pick it up before the price really skyrockets.

Never heard Lustmord, but I see they did a collab with Robert Rich who I do know. I have the Robert Rich album below which is excellent from 1983.

Nordvarg is exceptional.

I'm quite partial to Ondo from Sweden, I put out a CDR from him a few years ago.

Sleep Research Facility are fantastic, and I can't suggest the album Nostromo enough.

Zoat-Aon have several fantastic records. Everything on the Aural Hypnox label is great.

I'll list some more once I've recovered from my bachelor party camping hangover

I'm also really partial to New Risen Throne from Italy

RYN, I forget where they're from but their album Astral Death is exceptional.

Luasa Raelon are great too. Lots of excellent albums, one is a collaborative with Hive Mind that is wonderful.

Envenomist has a record called Abyssal Siege which is great.

There is a compilation on Paradigms called Walking with Ghosts that has sone really great stuff from obscure bands, not all dark ambient but quite a bit meets the criteria....

Check out Utech records, they put out some great shit. Even shit that is much too experimental for me to get in to (experimental saxophone music kinda really rucks in my opinion).

Gog's Ironworks is one of my favorite records ever. It's just an incredible force of sound
