So, I've been wanting to reward myself lately and decided to buy myself a new pedal. I couldn't decide between the Fnord and Quantum, so I basically flipped a coin.

My question stems from already owning a Black Forest. I dig it. It's cool. I just wanted something new.

Did I make the wrong decision buying a Quantum because it will sound similar to the Black Forest? The Fnord is totally out there different from my other dirt pedals (rat, swollen pickle, russian muff, black forest).

I love Yob so it was kind of the deciding factor.

It's def different than a Black Forest. It's more of a smooth and thick distortion with gain for days. Nice note clarity as well. I only flipped mine cuz I found that my Elements could cop those sounds already.

The Fnord is great too but like you said, pretty out there and not something I use on a regular basis at all. The QM, however, could easily produce your baseline heavy distortion toanz.

The last time was years ago, I think, at a Lion's Daughter show in the loop and I was drunk and had a car full of liquor bottles.

Never tried the quantum but I just came here to say the fnord is the bees knees

A quantum Mystic is on my to get myself for my birthday list. Also Nice to see other STL locals here. The Lions Daughter rocks.
