Can you tell me about the reverse? I don't think you can mix the dry signal (which is fine) but how much of a delay is there between hitting the not and the note's repeat? Also can you use the looper or delay to do good stutter effects?

I've got one on my board, I admit I use the looping function more than the delay.

With the reverse you can't mix the dry signal, but you use the time knob to denote how long until the reversed delay kicks in.

With the looper you can kind of do stutter effects, as it doesn't quantize or anything.

What sort of stuttery type sound are you looking for?

The DL8 has a minimum loop time, so it doesn't stutter very well. The Digidelay cab stutter with the best of 'em, but I'm not crazy about its reverse.

can the reverse be set to repeat pretty sudden or is there always a pretty noticeable lag? I can mix a dry signal in on the reverse of my Muza M-ambiace, but the tracking isn't very hot.

I came across this video, looks like mylets uses one and he demonstrates a stutter on it, so it looks like it passes that test. @2:55

Yeah, the digidelay is definitely better for that kind of stutter, the DL-8 doesn't do that for shit.

In terms of the reverse on the DL-8, it kind of works close to a normal delay in the way that it operates. Like, on the lowest setting the reverse will kick in after a certain amount of milliseconds, which means it can take a bit of tweaking with the riff you're playing and the tempo to get it so it sounds like it kicks in. On the lowest setting it is quite soon, but it doesn't kick in as soon as you start playing, which kinda sucks.

Reverse in the Digitech universe the Timebender is (was) king.

Digidelay it didn't have many options, and the fadein on the DL-8 seemed a bit more abrupt than I'd like.

Timebender is a nice envelope that fades into reverse goodness, like you'd expect from flipping a tape.

A lot of reverse delays in pedal form lack a certain amount of control and finesse, it's like reverse verb - you get what you pay for and good is neither cheap nor small (and the Lexicon delay stuff isn't in any of the Digitech pedals from what I can tell).
