The Tresonator.

Latest build from the Hen's Tooth Café, The Tresonator.

This is a culmination of my twisted mind, meeting great PCB design. We were well on our way of reversing the Frostwave Resonator, when suddenly, by brain short circuited, and came up with a list of I wanna's. Well... with UKToecutter's talents, I gots. The Tresonator is a Frostwave Resonator, with complete CV control over any parameter, all housed into a Crybaby shell.

The unit;

UKT did an outstanding job on the board, and he even designed a daughterboard for slide switches, although I passed up the daughterboard for the mini rotary switches. Much to our surprise, the Crybaby shell is not as "standard" as one might think. I had three different shells, and the hole distances were different on each. In the end, I managed to work around the differences, and get a decent result. I think daughterboards for the pots would be great too.

This is a validation build, and at some point, we might do a run. For now, it's going to sit on the back burner, until we clear out all the Guyatone Fuzz Monster clone boards.

Here's a video of the unit in action. Rather long, I must admit, but there's a lot to cover. Feel free to fast forward if necessary, there's a lot of explaining blablabla.

Yeah, I apologize for the long winded intro, but I just wanted to explain the functions properly. Thank God for fast forward! :lol:

I don't mind it when you talk Dino. Partially because you have a pleasant way of talking while conveying a real enthusiasm for what you do, but mostly because you are good at explaining stuff that borders on technical while still being kinda focused on the "how does this thing sound" part of things.

Exactly. Perfect blend of function and sound. Always great work, amazing hard to access circuits, true diy spirit fo sho.

Haha, I might do that for the comedic value one day. I meant the specific hen's tooth talk. A well explained pedal goes a long way in a demo, I think.

I think justnick also does a great a job of talking alot and keeping it interesting as well as plenty of demo material. I was going to do a demo in my demo thread of a tube screamer and just talk about it for like 10 minutes and thats all. :lol: but it seemed like the long way around the block for a simple punchline.
