The Elements vs the King of Tone

I made it to the top of the King of Tone wait list, but after getting The Elements I no long want it...I had a chance to compare them side by side and found I could get better tone, in my opinion, with my new favorite pedal. I am loving the sounds and textures I get with The Elements, even close to six months after getting it I am still finding great new settings. Guess that frees up just enough money for a Cosmicchorus
It's almost my birthday!

I've also compared the KoT to the Elements and Dr. Scientist was the clear winner.

My king of tone doesn't really do distortion
I thought at heart the elements Is a distortion pedal.
At heart the king of tone is an overdrive.

No way, Elements does all kinds of light gain etc., and KoT does all kinds of high gain, stacked gain, distortion stuff.
I don't know why everyone goes crazy for the KoT. I was totally unimpressed, especially with the high gain side which was weirdly choked out, compressed, and colored. I could maybe get on with one that was low gain-low gain, but no.

The prince of tone is not the king of tone.
Edit: you must be talking about the interior dip switches. The distortion settings don't turn the pedal into a distortion pedal. It's just further tone sculpting. Afaik the prince of tone is just one half of the king of tone. Regardless this is still just an overdrive pedal.

I though it was the half of the King of Tone.
I know Marc Ribot use a King of Tone, but I'm not attracted to that kind of overpriced brand name.

KoT definitely isn't as versatile. The Elements is just too handy to not have lying around. It's small and would be the only dirt I have that can do every sound I use. Well, maybe the Fuck can do that too, but that's only because its sounds specifically hit the right notes for me. As far as pure versatility and practically, Elements takes the cake. I doubt I'll ever part with it for that reason. It sounds very good, but its ingenuity and practicalities that will keep it around. Perfect design.
Also, KoT doesn't do high gain fuzz or hyper metal. Gorgeous sounding overdrive—more 'amp-like—but it's bigger, more expensive, harder to find, and not as pretty. Dig aNaLoG.MaN a lot, but his style of building is very different.

Like we said...they are not the same type of pedals to compare lol. Might as well say I prefer the big muff to the fuzz face.

The low gain side of the elements is def overdrive flavored and reducing gain more gets you into pure Cleanness boost territory. Does it all and does it well.
