weird stereo effect issue w/ tremolesence

i am running a bunch of shit mono into Dr. Scientist Tremolessence, and running that stereo into a Diamond Halo Chorus that outputs each of its channels into a delay pedal which runs into a DittoXL into two amps.
so i got a trs---2xTS patch cable made to run out of the TRS stereo jack on the trem into the dual TS jacks of the chorus in typical insert cable fashion.
when the pedals are set up this way (and yes the mono input on the trem is not all the way in) if delays and chorus are bypassed, there is no signal.
if chorus is turned on there is signal. if one or both delays is turned on there is signal.
i fucked with it real hard, talked to it. even read the manuals, nothing. the only thing that i can gather is that the Diamond Halo Chorus anticipates two regular patch cables and not a tip/ring scenario, in which case, how should the jacks be modified to work normal? or is there another scenario here that i am not considering?
