Dual distortion knob on rat clone

I have built a rat clone before and it's great, but I have some extra ICs so I figure I might build another, but I want to spice it up a bit. Thinking Id like to add in a second distortion pot to switch between for more sounds.
I know you can get it as an extra on the King Rat pedals, but I wanted to know how to implement it. I am would like to have a led to indicate when the second distortion pot is engaged. A 3pdt should be ok for this right?
Diagrams would be amazing! Also, FYI I am using the tagboard effects layout if that helps.
Thanks in advance

I believe the so-called Ruetz mod would be what you want. It's sort of like a second gain control.

Sorry I meant the Rat King, not King Rat. It's made by Fuzzrocious.

I had thought about a foot-switchable ruetz mod but that also changes the character of the pedal, so I think the foot-switchable distortion knobs would work better for what I want.

You can use a pot for the Ruetz mod instead of just on/off. That makes it more like a second gain control.
Or you could just have two Distortion pots and use a switch to toggle between them.

What would be a good pot to use? I'm thinking linear taper, but what ohm rating? I have my ruetz mod on a switch. But am thinking of modding it with a pot.

you need to replace the 47 Ohm resistor with a 1K pot. you could also try a 500 Ohm pot by attaching a 1K resistor across lugs 1 + 3 of the 1K pot.
