Or do you just let it get funky?

Depends, but usually my extent of 'polishing' is taking a paper towel to the pickguard under the strings to get pick dust off. That's about it for me. I have taken a few sets of strings off to do extensive cleanings, but it's been vary rare

Depends on the guitar, my acoustic quite a bit, the rest only if they have a lot of build up

I clean mine, but I don't get too anal about it.
I use fretboard cleaners and conditioners because I really hate the sight of grime on the fretboard, and I use string cleaning stuff just so I don't have to change strings as often. I don't replace any strings until they break.
Most of mine falls under general maintenance I guess, I clean em up if they're getting a noticeable amount of dust/grime/grit on them.
Plus, there's the general shit done to stop pots getting crackly, using contact cleaner and stuff.

I'm pretty sure I never clean anything I own. I sometimes will try to get the dust off my pedals but I don't do a very good job

Seriously, I'm the only one who voted that I clean my guitars?
I own like 15 guitars right now, and precisely ONE case. My wife is understanding enough to let my guitars hang on the wall in the living room. I can't play all of them all the time, and I have 5 long-haired cats. If I didn't wipe the guitars down from time to time, they would be all furry and nasty. I don't polish them, though.
The only time I polish a guitar is when I buy one used, especially if from a pawn shop. Any used guitar I buy gets completely broken down and thoroughly cleaned. And now that I know that 9/10 people never clean their guitars, and that I am the one person that does, I'm kind of glad I do...

I like to clean and lemoil the fret board but the rest I like to leave funky. Fingerprints, dust, dried sweat and blood gives a guitar character.

I wipe down the metal parts now and then to keep them shiny and hopefully prevent pitting. I give it a little more thorough cleaning and oil the fretboard whenever I change strings, which is almost never.

I wipe them when they get noticeably grimy and whenever I change strings I give them a much better clean, but I never properly polish them or anything. Probably should.

I like a shiny guitar, but I am lazy about doing so.

I clean it with the Dunlop 65 stuff... but never polish it.

I wipe down neck/fretboard + strings. Other than that, I embrace whatever I leave on my guitars.

I do the same, especially because my guitars are vintage and I don't want the fretboards to dry out.
