I feel like this is a blown chance to add something to the simple looper market, instead of just adding some lights to what DigiTech did.

Maybe an effect or two from the 30? The external switching options are nice, but it looks like retail is going to be the same as the X2.

And is anyone actually using these minutes upon minutes of record time? It makes more sense on the X2 because you can use it like a basic digital recorder, but I don't see the point when you can only preserve the most recent loop(s).

Yikes. I can't even imagine using those Boss footswitches pressing twice to stop and getting everything in sync. I'm remembering instantly why I sold my previous Boss looper....

i... don't really see the point. why get this over a used RC-2 or RC-3? or any other simple compact looper, for that matter.

When I first read that article, I honestly couldn't believe that this is a new release from Boss.

I mean...come on. The Ditto and Jamman Express XT shit all over this, due to being more board friendly (and from what I can gather, more user friendly as well).

Plus for a little extra cash, you could get the Jamman Solo XT or the DL-8.

This just cannot succeed in any possible way :picard:

If anything, this is their opportunity to jump into making smaller pedals. But then I suppose their enclosures have a reputation. :idk:

At least it looks like it's got a jack on the side to hook up a 'stop' button so you dont actually have to use the Boss Switch. I don't see the point of it either, but I guess Boss just wanted to get in the game to say they made a simple looper as well

Boss needs to realize that they are stuck in a form factor that just doesn't work for some applications, and rather than try and force it they should just let it go.

Now, I think if they set this up for hold to record, hold to overdub, double tap to bypass it could have been alright. The visual display of loop position is actually a pretty useful feature.

Couldn't agree more.
At least they're doing that DM-2 reissue and still make multi fx units with ridiculous sounds hidden in them. Can't lose hope just yet.

I'm sure the peeps at boss thought it was a great idea to come up with a looper that could rival with the compitition. So far their RC series was pretty damn far from user friendly or small imo. Not alone is this new one just as bulky as every single other boss pedal, I *really* doubt it'll beat digitech and TC electronic at this game...:idk:

Boss confuses me.

All anyone wants is their delays. or a good metal pedal. do that instead of more loopers.

I love my RC 3, use it as a pedalboard friendly sampler.

But yeah I think everyone's missing the point of this: THAT FLASHING LOOP LIGHT. WOULD STARE AT. FOR HOURS.
