Gimme some poppy music doods

Every once in a while I try to listen to genres that stray FAR outside my normal listening range, and then attempt to find the artists I like. Does anyone know of some great, straight up, poppy music that's interesting? I will have no shame in checking anything out, so you should have no shame in revealing what pop artists you think are great. They don't even have to be super pop-ular, just, y'know, popp-y. Kind of looking for music that's not necessarily guitar driven.
I dunno if it's something you'd call "pop" but think along the lines of Big Sir (Juan Alderete and Lisa Panineau's porject). I'll take any suggestions, really.
LAY IT ON ME.

If you actually check any, go in reverse order of the list.

Land of Kush has an interesting pop-world vibe, but still holding fast to their post-gybe roots
The most recent lp from the Preservation Hall Band is fun as all get out.

Yes they are....the most pretentious of hipsters. My wife dragged me two consecutive shows last week and ... it was great.
