Kenye West's music has to be amazing, for how highly people speak of it, but I just have such an irrational loathing of the human being.

The thing is cannot fucking stand is these stupid titles.
If pitchfork want to compile a list of their most highly regarded albums, then great, that's cool, but you state clearly that it's the opinion of the staff, not try and pass it off as an objective truth. Especially since the actual amount of released music that gets listened to by these people is a minority of what is actually out there, and a lot of artists pay them to have reviews done anyway.
Music 'journalism' really rustles my jimmies

Pretty sure Converge put an album out in the past four years.
List is false.

nothing irrational about that loathing.
the music and voice is awful, appalling, the only explanation i can think of for the praise is a pathetic desire for some people to be seen as 'cool' and 'edgy' for liking it - if you brand something as 'cool', then say that you like that 'cool' thing, then you think that makes you 'cool' too

Oh good, I was working on a bottle of Woodford Reserve when I made this, glad it's not too negative or "oh look how obscure I am, I don't even own a pitchfork blah blah blah"

They are a terrible source for what's going on. Very limited and into the hip. They do review albums that I like often and have gone as far as saying one was "too conscious".
Fuck Pitchfork.

I have a feeling ILF doing reviews of albums would be way more informative/hilarious.

There are undoubtedly some great albums on that list. The problem is that the reasoning for them being there comes across as ostentatious.

Can you tell me what "electro-industrial" is? My next door neighbour was saying he and his wife were going to Berlin to see a festival and I don't know what they mean. They weren't into Throbbing Gristle....
Do they mean like Rammstein?

Soooooooome of it is good. Deadmau5 is kind of a guilty pleasure for me, but his music is so chill and beautiful in between the bangers. But it's definitely hard to find good EDM cause you have to weed through a lot of shit.
