I was looking at charge pumps today and I found something that looks like an upgrade to the current standard MAX1044 or 7660. I don't think there will any noticeable clock noise in the finished pedal using a 120KHz clock. what do you think? these are pretty cheap too.

Looks like the max supply is 10.5v, so an unregulated 9v adapter might blow it like with the MAX-1044. Voltage sag under load seems to be very slightly better than the TC1044 or TC7660s. The supply current required is about 5x that of the TC1044 or TC7660s, but it is still small at less than 1mA. The TC1044 and TC7660s will take up to 13v, but only run at 45khz. Price-wise, they are all within a dime of each other.

I guess that if you need the really high clock, it's a good option, but otherwise, there doesn't seem to be much of an advantage over the TC1044/TC7660s.

Still... I'm adding some to my next order.

my 9v adapter is 9.5v. I use a visual sound one spot. I highly doubt it will break at 10.5v. look at the max power dissipation. that is thermal dissipation actually. that is a good estimate as to what conditions cause thermal failure of the device. exceeding a conservative estimate on the datasheet about max supply voltage does not scare me at all. I guess the real proof is if we can acquire one and blow it up under 20ma load at 13v or so.
