Trying to help out a bass playing buddy of mine.
He's trying locate a fuzz like the Chunk Systems Brown Dog. He's got a Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk Envelope Filter, to pair with it.
So maybe fuzz with a clean blend, gated and synthy. Brown Dog show up for sale every once in awhile, but damn $$$!
Any useful insight?
Pretty sure he's playing thru an older Ampeg tube head.

That's pretty much the answer to everything though. What kind of fuzz should I get for bass? What kind of fuzz should I get in general? What should I get my wife for our anniversary? What should I get my kids for Christmas? How can we bring peace in the Middle East?
The answer is always TAFM.

Maybe have him check out the Malekko B:Assmaster, sounds like what your friend is looking for.

I know the go to answer is TAFM, but I'd high recommend the DMB Bumble Fuzz or the Presciption Electronics Depth Charge. Those two fuzzes have the perfect blends for bass IMO. I've had a TAFM several times and the Depth Charge knocked it off my board. It's a great pedal though, don't get me wrong.
Check out demos for sure as well.

I fed him a Pharaoh clone and now he wants something more...
B:Assmaster germanium is available via another buddy. Seems like the silicon version he plays sounds better.
I will have him check out the Depth Charge and just so lightning does not strike down TAFM as well.
Thanks.

I wish I had tried the depth charge without my rusty box. Because now I don't use the rusty box and wonder if it was tainting the depth charge sound for me.
If anyone has one they wanna temp trade me...

tafm for it's massive bass heavy fuzz and it's clean blend, or the pharaoh for the bassy doom *but no clean blend.
