so currently i have an epiphone firebird, and a 72 fender tele deluxe
and i'm wanting to buy another one, and the only one that's drawing my attention is

this gretsch


are there any other noteable guitars in the $500 price range that i'm missing

EDIT: Realized some of them are pretty expensive, but there are around 5-8 in the 400-500 range.

Squier Classic Vibe series. They are some o the best guitars I've ever laid my hands on. The Duo Sonic isnt as amazing as the Tele and strat, but whatevs.

I second that the tele is sweet!!!

go to a few pawn shops, haggle and spit on the owners till you're basically robbing them

ive had a couple of bad experiences with squiers in the past...
now i'm kinda scared to try em out again haha...

although, now that fender prices have gone up and i cant justify to myself spending that much money idk...

there's this guy on craigslist selling a butterscotch beat-up usa tele for $500, but it's pretty beat up...

They have gems and turds, but he gems are amazing, for the money especially. I think Squier has significantly upped their game, especially in the lst year or two with their higher end stuff.

that gretsch sure is purdy. i say go for it.

Have you thought about checking out a Xaviere or Agile?

Your missing a semi-hollow/hollowbody. What about a gretch electromatic or epi dot?

You've got the tele and the humbucker set.

i've always found the xaviere hollow bodies very intriguing

Squier Jagmaster!!! The pickups are good, not great but good, however you'll have enough money left for new ones if you don't like them. Also I agree with Aen about The Vintage Squiers, the Telecaster is better than all of the Fenders I've played, no joke I swear to god.
