What are your favorites?

I've been listening to Grave Temple a lot and I highly recommend it. Boris's Absolutego and Earth's Earth 2 will always be my favorites though.

Very partial to pretty much all of SunnO)))'s stuff, although particular mention to White1, White2 and Oracle.

KTL are awesomely evil

(The Men of) Porn's "Experiments In Feedback" is just amazing

Earth2 is my favourite Earth album also, although Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars is pretty good also.

Nadja's Touched has got to be a classic of the genre

And finally, while not exactly doom, the drone work of Fear Falls Burning is breathtaking.

Ive been boning up recently, asi was approached about starting a doom metal band. (hmm, i htink im going to need a TP again) So obviously, Boris and Sunn 0))) ar eint he heavy rotation. Im going to check out some of the ohter acts in here though. PS I nabbed a fucking boris&Sunn 0))) tshirt at my local savers for 5 bucks, i just about shit!

KTL is scary shit, but I kind of always wanted more, as in, some beats, I guess :idk: perhaps im not as avant garde as i pretend to be.

Seeing them live is one of the loudest and most rocking experiences I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Way more intense than their recordings. They were setting up / starting their 2nd set here in Anchorage, and someone in the audience heckles "play some songs!" and the guy looks up from his pedals and says something like "we don't have any. songs are for your mother" in a very calm snark.

Both nights I saw them it was only 2 people (the 3rd couldn't come to the US) and it was roughly 45 minutes of insane double guitar drone, with each guitar player getting up and playing some super doomy drum parts for a while. I caught a glimpse of the dude tuning his guitar, and I learned their secret to success. The three low strings are all tuned to a low D. Keep in mind they barely ever played the strings of the guitar, but it was awesome anyway.

I can't remember the guys name, but I bought the girl's solo CD and it was awesome too. her name is bonnie mercer.

They're sick, for sure. Their recordings are kinda a sludgier Bardo Pond.
