Who plays with it? any good with other pedals? How you use it?

yes I know some peeps use them, and some even ditched a number of pedals in favor of this big little unit. I am very interested to know how it sits in the FX Loop and if it gets along other pedals like a champ.

I've got the MS-100BT, which is pretty close. I use it mostly like I might a CDR--I haven't dug into the amp or dirt pedal sims much. Some of the algorithms are great, some great but hard to find a use for, and some just workmanlike. The pedal plays well with others, but I haven't tried it in an effects loop.

cool man. Does it handle expression pedals or is that a no no? I'm gueing they are pretty much alike to eachother except for the fxs they have inside

No expression. The USB jack on the 70CDR does support MIDI program change (Disaster Area's FB has scattered running info.) No more extensive MIDI is evident, though it could need a firmware update from factory to get there. Hopeful thinking could be more MIDI with a future firmware update, but this stuff is all unofficial as far as Zoom is concerned. I'm shit out of luck on the 100BT unless it secretly harbors MIDI over Bluetooth.

Me, if I cared about expression, I'd look at the G3X and G5 or see if the stock sounds in the expression pedal version of the G1ON gave me enough of what I wanted. The first two have a bit more MIDI and built in expression. I think the normal G3 might also have an expression input.

to me, its not the most delicious sounding pedal ever, but its very nice and offers a very wide sonic palette. i use it mainly tabletop w/ synths, samplers and drum machines. it seems to play nice w/ the other pedals i've tried (mainly other verbs, delays and a possessed), but i have no experience w/ dirt + this. it handles line level stuff like a champ if that means anything in the grand scheme.

the only thing that gets me sometimes is that the processing power is finite, meaning that all combinations of fx are not possible. (mainly the ones that u really want to try)
it seems to me that if u choose a sexy fx (like the blackhole reverb or a fancy delay), u are left to choose from the more basic to medium fx for the rest of your chain.
each effect consumes a different level of processing, and you'll notice rather quickly w/ the heavier ones.
having said that i've also been able to get chains of 5-7 pedals going at once so u just have to work within its limitations.

the presets are pretty easy to work w/, and there's a cool feature that allows u assign presets to a alphabet system, (A-B-C-D-E-F, etc) and then w/ each press of the footswitch, will switch to the next letter/preset combination. neat for quick fx chain changes, song changes, or even parameter changes with the same fx chain.

hmmmmm. Thanks man. I was indeed considering the G5 for quite some time, but there are lots of stuff in it I would have no need for.
the ms70cdr looks like a sweet deal. Love modulations!!!! And if by having it I can save on other pedals, better yet. A no brainer.

Yea, I wanted to try one (even over my 505 hell experiences when those were current many moons ago), but the DSP limit was a killer.

I ended up breaking down and getting what I really wanted (which is true in most cases how I work), a Boss GT-001. Same tabletop end use for me, a lot more expensive, but a lot more options.

I been playing with a Boss GT6 for years. It' nice, but rather limited. Before that I had a GT5 and before that a DOD x4 [or something like that]. I got bored of multi-xs units. Nothing against them, quite on the contrary, they are valuable in many aplications, but are so goddam BIG!!!
I want to get into smaller pedals now. Uniting the Multi FXs and smaller pedals seems ideal. So I'm thinking ditching the GT6 and getting the Zoom CDR and some other analog pedals.

if u are used to multi-fx stuff and multi-fx sound, the CDR should be right up your alley

yep, they are getting better and better.

And its' always interresting finding out some great musicians using them in many aplications. live and in the studio [even the really old crappy gear]

The older multis are, in both overhead and options and arrangements and tweaking.

I've had them since the first Boss ME-5 multi back in the stone age (and a ART and Quadraverb rack before that, both of which I'm using still on occasion, not the same physical units but the same models.

Before that I had a GT5 and before that a DOD x4 [or something like that]. I got bored of multi-xs units. Nothing against them, quite on the contrary, they are valuable in many aplications, but are so goddam BIG!!!

Older units were better in that respect before they started slamming a volume/expression pedal on them. I hated having a fixed angle/position pedal even before my legs got fucked. Only one I have now is a GR-55 with one, and that's because there's no no-expression option (which the GT-001 solved for me, and since I don't gig any more, I can run my own switches to it).

I want to get into smaller pedals now. Uniting the Multi FXs and smaller pedals seems ideal. So I'm thinking ditching the GT6 and getting the Zoom CDR and some other analog pedals.

Probably about the same level of processing power, whether the sounds work for you in the Zoom is a question for the ages!

That Zoom thingy looks Ideal for me: chorus, reverb and delay are my fav effects [I'm a King Crimson and Pink Floyd fanatic]
