I hate flame top and never understood the upper horn fretboard thing, but I've seen worse.

Dude, that's Anthony Jackson.

Jackson's a pioneer in extended range electric basses.

If one of his basses has a certain design element, you can be sure it serves a useful purpose.

Cool video! The bass is not my style but definitely not that bad as far as those kinds of basses go.

the only exception being the bass vi and its derivatives

and the hagstrom 8 string

basically anything with a giant ass fretboard is gross

Yes the man that brought us the six string bass guitar and B strings… on bass guitars… uprights have had low Bs for well over 100 years.. and… the "single" cut body shape.. which is more fugly than the offspring of a pig and a baboon.

Best bass ever. Beautifully crafted and masterfully played.

More importantly Hiromi is insane and all additive time syncopated crazyness.
