Stacked or Side-By-Side?

I know I could just search this on google and find a ton of stuff but I'm not interested in a binary answer cuz I know it's subjective and I also want to hear ILD's take (if there already is a thread on here about this, I apologize). More curious as a poll for those gigging with two (or more) cabs on here if you stack them or put them side by side and why? I think I'm leaning toward side by side for the perceived low end, but how much of a difference does it make for an audience. And at what distance does it make a difference. I usually check my tone by standing a few feet from the cab and then walk back as far as I can (about 10-12 ft in my practice space). Of course I like what it sounds like better the closer I get for the lows. Stacked I do appreciate the immediacy of a lot of the frequencies since the speakers are closer to my head, but the heaviness of two next to each other is pretty awesome. Pros and cons for sure. I know there's dispersal stuff to consider too. Perceived sound vs an objective notion of sound is just super fascinating to me, especially in gigging situation.

Duel full stacks. that way everything is covered. high and low.
Actually I don't really see too much difference, usually if when we had one guitarist in the band, split the full stack with a half stack on each side for balance.
Outside of that with the venues I played a lot depended on the stage size. but mainly the split on the ground. Except one of my bands where we did the duel full rigs on each side for one guitarist.

I do two half stacks side by side. Every time I stack cabs it sounds weird to me.

I like lifting

I think some of you are going to hate to see what I'm planning for my setup for my next show I think next month... all depends if I can get them together by then.

Side by side. I usually slightly angle my cabs outward a bit for more outward projection range too

Glad to not be alone in digging side by side
But yeah I guess when there's not a lot of room there's no choice but to stack

Side by side is cool but most of the time we don't have a stage big enough to put 6 cans side by side (2 each for guitars, one bass, and one for keyboards). I used to run two 4x12s side by side with a 2x12 on one cab and then two heads stacked on the other. Sounded fucking huge.

Yeah, I'll stack if there isn't room on stage, but I try not to.
