Don't get too excited, it has vocals. It is unclear if the whole album has vocals on it or not. I would assume there are at least a few instrumentals. :idk:

Earth move too slowly to surprise, right? Mind yourself, then, for the start of “From the Zodiacal Light”, the first glimpse at Earth’s forthcoming album, Primitive & Deadly, out September on Southern Lord. Since the band’s reboot a decade ago, Dylan Carlson’s guitar has purred and glistened, cut free from the webs of feedback and distortion that made the earliest Earth LPs cavernous and canonical. But he rumbles at the start here, caking Adrienne Davies’ steady meter with a burly, bristling tone.

Near the minute mark, Earth incorporate one of the biggest shocks of their quarter-century: a vocalist, one of the first to lace around their instrumentals since Kurt Cobain. Rabia Shaheen Qazi, who leads the psychedelic Seattle eclectics Rose Windows, becomes a bewitching presence across these 11 minutes. She delivers verses of redemption through darkness with a sinister beckon, suggesting the reserve of Sandy Denny and the brood of Jex Thoth. And Earth, now a pristine machine of a veteran band, doesn’t falter in fitting her into their mix. They find space for the song, just at the lip of their unwavering rhythm and the riff.

FUCK
YEAH.

Also, I believe my favorite lady Chelsea Wolfe is on the new one. Or at least she sang on a recording of Dylan's.

Listened to the track, and I have to say I dug it a lot. The music itself is not much of a departure, but I felt myself actually nodding my head jamming to it, which I have never really done with Earth before, they just were not that type of project

seeing them saturday night. I usually don't really like Earth with vocals so I'm interested to check this out when I get home.

Dylan is using an Ibanez RG for most of this tour. Dylan rules.

edit: last time they were here they played on a wednesday night in a pretty small bar. First ever Earth show in australia, everyone was crazy excited and cheering heaps between songs and stuff, and it seemed like the band were having a great time based on this. Dylan introduced a song, "This song is called Tallahasee" and I love that song so yelled out FUCKYEAAAAAAHHHHH like a huge bogan. He stopped, looked right at me and was like 'obviously sir you've never been there'.

I got sassed by one of my guitar heroes.

Dylan rules.

Yeah, I totally dig how he's been using different guitars recently and modding all of them as well.
