Need some mod ideas for my tele

Dudes.
I need something to do with my tele.
Like, I really like where it is now, sonically, but I want something else to give it additional oomph.
It's a nashville body with the full swimming pool route under the guard, Porter T90s in the neck and bridge, a stacked bucker in the middle, and 5 way switching. I've already got an extra switch from when I had split coils on a neck-bucker that isn't there anymore, so that can be useful, maybe?

I tried the Black Ice passive overdrive mod, but was underwhelmed. I've had phase switching and all that, but got tired of it...

Anyways, I was thinking a multiple position tone knob with a few different caps on it...But seems like there could be more fun/out-there options?

Let me be your guinea pig!

lose the 5way and do three mini toggles [three way one the bucker] :idk:
try to fit a 4th pickup in there :idk:

I love having independent mini toggles, I also have a switch for cutting out the tone and volume pots, it's fun for really sharp stuff. I have three pickups right now but am adding a lipstick pickup in soon...

I suggest the tone/vol cut though.

Kill stutter switch in there is a lot of fun. Especially with an oscillating fuzz.

Interesting. Are you thinking this would be keeping the volume/tone in line, or bypass them? Maybe have a fourth toggle to be able to run them with volume/tone?

Tried fitting a fourth pickup in...No room at the inn. Could fit a variety of piezos in there, though

I think he meant the three way switch for splitting the Humbucker..... Soo... On Bucker/Off/On Split... or similiar. My tone/volume kill switch is stuck between the volume and ton knobs, plenty of space there.

kind'a. what he meant was each pickup has a on/off switch and the bucker has bucker/off/single, this would give you any pickup configuration and ease of use. I would do a push/pull for cutting out the controls [one for each  ] to keep the thing looking cleaner and whatnot.

You could have even more fun if it was a tele deluxe [or had the deluxe pickguard] then you could go three buckers each with a 5way rotary switch and a on/of for each and you could do concentric vol/tone controls :thumb:

Oh, trust me, my friend. I tried. I was going to do full tele deluxe style, but the price to have one cut to fit my pickups (which I'm very fond of) was going to be extreme...I tried dremel cutting a couple, but I'm a total klutz with that thing.

I am pretty interested in a toggle/rotary configuration now that you guys have mentioned it. It'll require getting the right kind of pick guard and doing a bigger route inside, but hell.
Maybe a 6 way rotary tone pot, get rid of the 5-way switching, do a hagstrom-style toggle system for the pickups and a coil split, and use the place for the 5-way switch for a master volume slider?

That might eliminate the need to reroute the cavity...Just would need a pick guard at that point.
