First Powder Coating Attempt

Hopefully this isn't considered an ad since I do sell these.... Feel free to delete if this violates the rules.

I got a harbor freight gun, and a double Electric wall oven off craigslist for $50.

For the first batch I tried penny vein and double blue vein.

The enclosures turned out great after a few practice pieces!

The Key Is getting them SUPER clean, I wiped each off with acetone, then went back a second and third time with acetone on a clean paper towel making sure not to touch the surface to be coated.

I used the oven racks and hung the enclosures with bailing wire so I could just discard the wire after they get covered with powder and will no longer conduct electricity.

This Is way easier to do than I thought, If anyone is trying to get into powder coating and has any questions, I'd be glad to try to answer them.

I am definitely looking to get into powder coating. What kind of oven did you use? That's the thing that holds me back the most. It'd be awesome if I could do this though. Fuck my business would look so slick. Right now I'm looking into a spray gun to use anyway, so this would be great!

I guess I don't have one good question, more a "how do you do it?". Is there a good tutorial anywhere???

I bought an electric wall oven off of craigslist, I bought the wall oven just because it takes up less space than a full stove. Any electric oven will work, I suppose even a toaster oven if there's enough room to hang the part.

Just make sure its electric, gas ovens can ignite the powder and cause an explosion, or so I'm told. Also have a dedicated oven, don't cook food in it after using it to cure powder.

I learned just from watching videos on youtube and reading some articles online, there's quite a bit of info out there on DIY Powdercoating.
